Angelica (Angy) Hanon, M.A.

Hi! My name is Angelica Hanon but I go by Angy. I am a bilingual/bicultural clinical mental health intern originally from Nicaragua with Mexican roots. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and a master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College. Supervised by Laura Maria Patron, PhD

I began my counseling and art therapy career working with kids, adolescents, and individuals with disabilities. I worked at a private practice (Stella’s Dream), a non-profit art therapy studio (The Art Therapy Studio), and an inpatient therapeutic farming facility (Hopewell). During my clinical and internship experience, together, clients and I explored, developed, and practiced necessary life skills. Which led to growth, better coping with life's stresses and stronger communication skills. 

In my counseling and/or art therapy sessions, I maintain an accepting, comfortable, and judgment-free environment, where the client comes first. My hope is for clients to develop a sense of confidence in themselves and have the tools and life skills to live a full and rich life.
